Summary
MSOE invites applications for a full- time Head Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Coach to join our Athletics team. The Head Coach will primarily be responsible for recruiting an expanded roster of female student athletes in each sport, preparing a team through training, and coaching the team in all season competitions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily in season training sessions. Duties include but not limited to strength and fitness training, teaching and drilling skills, teaching game strategy and tactics, psychological and motivational preparation.
- Monitor academic progress of student athletes while fostering a student-centered focus for the team.
- Learn and follow all NCAA rules.
- Schedule team games a season in advance.
- Assist with budget preparation, and monitor and follow team budget.
- Recruit and maintain a roster of qualified and quality student athletes that fit the University mission.
- Develop and nurture relationships with MSOE staff members and academic faculty.
- Develop relationships with alumni and help promote the Raider club booster organization.
- Attend required conference meetings.
- Work with the training staff to complete all necessary forms and arrange physicals.
- Assist compliance director in preparing eligibility for respective teams.
- Organize team post season banquets.
- Take the CPR/AED training as required.
- Submit training/practice schedule for facility use.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with office management, game management and attend all area meetings, Kick off Day, Student awards Banquet and department meetings.
- Partner with the Head Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field Coach.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree required
- Coaching and/or leadership experience related to team operation and development.
- Demonstrated experience serving in a leadership role and influencing others to achieve a common goal.
- An appreciation for inclusion
- An understanding of the importance of leadership.

- Understanding how to achieve team goals to serve the mission of the department and University.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is partly sedentary, the ability to move is required. The employee is occasionally required to traverse within their work area as well as other areas on campus and outside track venues.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, in athletic facilities and in all-weather outdoor environments. The role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, as well as standard athletic equipment.
